The Client

A bird food subscription service selling blends of bird food adjusted every two months to meet the birds’ nutritional needs and delivered monthly in compostable packaging. Sustainability is at the core of A Little Bird Company’s unique service, and the brand help clients to support and encourage birds and wildlife in their garden through a monthly newsletter delivered with the bird food and through their blog and social media.

The Brief

The client wanted an eye-catching, simple website using vibrant images and a natural colour palette. At the heart of the website is a powerful subscription service, allowing clients to select from various options at checkout, pause or cancel the service via an online account, send subscription as a gift, and up, down or cross-grade the amount of bird food they wish to receive. The subscription functionality allows A Little Bird Company to offer trial periods, coupons, charge joining fees, sell multiple subscription packages at one checkout, schedule payment dates, send automated emails and access detailed sales reports. The website also needed a blog and the capacity to add a shop to work alongside the subscription service as the brand expanded.

Logos, brand colours and fonts, packaging, social media images and a template for the monthly newsletter were also designed in house.

The Design

We designed a simple site made up of four pages, a blog and service pages (including an account area, checkout and terms and conditions).

A simple, eye-catching circular logo design was created using brand colours in house for use on packaging.
This logo is used on the website and on receipts and emails.
